SANDY CAY MOORING DAY

Mooring upkeep is hard to do when there is a swell, today was a great day and were able to get many of the moorings back together, thanks to all the great help!!! Sandy Cay Sea Park continues to give back as so many beautiful fish, coral and exciting things to see for everyone that visits. Truly a Special place!!!

LAND CRAB HOUSE ?

While bird watching almost stepped into someone's house, oops!!!! It was at least a foot across, thinking maybe a land crab lives here?

NATIVE ORCHIDS ARE AMAZING!!!

Pictured here is just one of many varieties of Native Orchids you will find on any one of our Family islands. The bloom lasts sometimes up to 3 months, allowing for plenty of enjoyment time.

SANDY CAY MOORING PIN

Here is a picture of a broken Mooring Pin found at Sandy Cay on the bottom, chances are too big a boat (over 24 ft) used this pin causing it to be stressed and break off. Moorings are designed to hold small boats under 24 ft. and should be observed to protect reef as well as boaters. Sandy Cay is one of the most beautiful reef parks in all of the world and is right here in our wonderful backyard. Thanks to all those who help protect it and maintain these moorings!!!

RIPPING IT UP AT THE REEF BALL

The Reef Ball, put on by Friends Of The Environment, was a Huge success and lots of fun. Abaco Beach Resort did a Jam up job on the food and drinks and everyone had a great time. Anyone know these people? We may want to contact dancing with the stars!!!!!!!!!

ABACO'S INSECTS ARE TOO COOL !!!
